SINGLE CARBON NANOTUBE OPTICAL MICROSCOPY
Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) display strong optical absorption resonances and bright luminescence in the near-infrared. Following a sabbatical stay at Rice Univ. (Houston, with R.B. Weisman) in 2006-07, L. Cognet's research has been strongly focussed on the investigation of SWCNT optical/exciton properties at the single nanotube level, and the optimization of these properties for single nanotube tracking (bio)applications.
